Hi, I first claimed Pip for Bronchectisis, Uc, and IBD in may of last year, but was denied in October, appealed and just heard that i won my appeal, but sure she says it will be backdated to October the date of appeal? Is this correct as I thought it was backdated to when you made claim, anyone know if that’s correct? Thanks

Hi Teri68
Welcome to Scope online, lots of information and fun to be had onsite.
To answer your question it is back dated from the time you rang the DWP to start the claim.0 -
Lady called from pip! Asking if all my bank details were still the same and if I had been in hospital for a certain amount of time, she also said it would be backdated to October, which is when I sent appeal in!0

It should be backdated to May when you applied. The person you spoke to may simply have got it wrong as she was speaking to you. Wait and see what the new award letter says when it comes.0

Unless you were transferring from DLA then the person you spoke to is incorrect. It will start from when you first rang to start your claim. You will need to wait for the money to go into your bank and also for the decision letter and that will tell you when it's paid from. If it's incorrect you'll need to ring PIP.
