I’m new here! I’m hoping someone can help me . I currently claim child disability payment for my son were in Scotland and I’ve just applied for adult disability payment. My question is do they allow that as I claim for my son ? I’m so confused. Thank you.

Hi @EllbeeXo - & welcome to the community. As far as I'm aware they would be separate benefits, one for your son, & one for yourself. There's some info here about the Adult Disability Payment: https://www.mygov.scot/adult-disability-payment/applicantsYou can see the form you'll receive here (with no mention of a Child Disability Payment, as it's about the difficulties you may face): https://www.mygov.scot/binaries/mygov/browse/benefits/adult-disability-payment/documents-for-adult-disability-payment/adult-disability-payment-questions/For+reference+only+–+Part+1+and+2+combined+Adult+Disability+Payment+questions.pdf

Chiarieds is correct any claim for your son will not have any bearing on a claim made for yourself.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hello @ellbeex and a warm welcome to our online community, how are you today?
I'm glad our members were able to reassure you that claiming both benefits would be fine. Has this put your mind at rest?
Just to let you know, I've amended the title of your thread and moved it to our What benefits am I entitled to? category to make it more visible to others.
Wishing you and your son all the best. Take care.Online Community Co-ordinator

Same as claiming DLA for child and PIP for adult in England.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
