Hi Guys
You have been really really helpful in the past especially Poppy and Calcoti
Last month i added a change of circumstances and added the carers element on our UC claim, i get a message this morning from UC asking me to report my earnings from my employer, i thought that was done automatically with HMRC and UC,
They are asking for 10th Jan to 9th Feb, i dont know what to do as i get my wage slip on the 28th of each month, so i dont have anything for Feb until the 28th, do i just send them the details from my Jan wage slip? is that what they are asking for? i have sent them a message and awaiting a reply but they need the information sent today,
sorry for the long message and thank you in advance.
Sean

Being asked to report your earnings is normally something you would be asked to do if you are self employed.0

Hi Calcotti
Defaintly not self employed, as i said ive never been asked to do this, they asked who i worked for, how much before tax, then how much tax i pay and how much NI i pay and also if i pay intop a pension how much i pay, i dont know what to do and it says from 10th Jan to 9th Feb my wage slip only goes upto end of Jan....so i dont know!0 -
Maybe your employer didn't report your earnings, which is why they're asking. Your payslip for 28th Feb isn't what they're asking for. What counts for assessment period Jan 10th to 9th Feb is January's earnings. You can check online to see if your employer reported anything.

Is the amount on the payslip that matters. Have they asked you to send the information by message or to do something else?
If the former I would say something like
I have never been asked to do this before. I am employed and my earnings are normally obtained by ou through RTI. For the avoidance of doubt I am not self employed. The January payslip from my employer shows net earnings of £xxx, this is information I would expect you to have received from RTI.
I understand that you are definitely not self employed but just wondered if UC have cont confused about that. What exactly were you asked?0 -
Hi Calcotti and Poppy
On my journal i had a message in my To-do list
This is what is says:
Report your earnings from employers
Due by Friday 10 Feb 2023, also say if not sent in my payment on the 16th will be affected
i click on the link and it sends to a page i need to fill in,
ive fill it in but not sent it
This is what it says
Did any employers pay you ?
Which employers pay you?
Do you have all your payslips ?
Pay before deductions
Income tax
National insurance
Pension contributions
then it says take home pay *******
I dont want to report something im not meant to, and as i said before ive never been asked for this,
Could this be, because i changed circumstances a few weeks ago by saying im my partners carers and claimed UC carers element?
Thank you

Hi Poppy
You said this:

How do i find this out ?

At least it's reassuring taht they haven't confused you as being self employed.
Just send them the details from your January payslip.

Hi Calcotto and Poppy
Just spoke to UC after waiting an age on the phone, apparently a lot of people have been asked to put their wage slip details in as UC have had a problem with their system, Phew it was nothing to worry about
Thank you again for all your help
