Does anyone know if you taking medication for your illness will this give more points on your PIP claim, I know its about how the illness affect you but just wondering as I told my PIP assessor I was taking over counter medication because I am unable take the prescribed medicine's because I keep reacting to them.

One point maybe possible for either needing an aid/appliance or needing assistance, prompting or supervision for taking medication. This will come under activity 3 managing or monitoring a health condition.
Some people experience some side effects from medication so it maybe possible to score points in other activities/descriptors.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
@poppy123456 thank for that information very helpful, the assessor wrote that I wasn't taking prescribed medication or over the cover medication medication when he asked me directly if I took Paracetamol, it was also written on my PIP form that I took paracetamol and also why I wasn't able to take prescribed medication.
-
That's a standard copy and paste reason for refusals. Just because you don't take any prescribed medicaition doesn't mean you're not entitled to PIP.

@poppy123456 yes true, I'm just upset that thing were written that I didn't actually say.
-
I realise you're upset but you have to put the report and decision letter to one side and ignore them. Neither of those will get you a PIP award.
