You can challenge that decision by first requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR) You have 1 month from the date of the decision to request this. You should put your request in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. If you're outside of the 1 month deadline then you can still challenge it but you need to tell them why you didn't request it within the first month. (you have 13 months in total) If they refuse the late request you can just proceed with Tribunal. The most likely outcome of the MR will be the decision doesn't change. If this happens you can proceed to Tribunal. There's lots of advice on many different threads over in the PIP/DLA section.0

Hi @bonzoe thanks for reaching out, I've popped your post over into our PIP category so it's easier for anyone in a similar situation to find.
Are you getting enough support for your GP or other specialists to help manage your conditions at the moment?0 -
Hello @bonzoe
Welcome to the community!
I'm so sorry to heat you have developed a hernia. I am a fellow ostomate too, I just wanted to check in you have good support from the stoma nurses? Have they suggested hernia support garments to help with it?
Keeping my fingers crossed for you regarding your appeal process!0 -
Hi Hannah I have a support belt I see the surgeon yesterday he's talking about moving it to the left hand side but I don't know when0
-
Remember that PIP is about how you are impacted, not by a diagnosis. In itself having a stoma means that having bags will entitle you to 2 points (the bags count as an aid).0
-
That's good How do you feel about going back in for surgery? Hopefully it won't be too long a wait for the date!0
-
Not looking forward to it had so many issues with infections and leaks and I'm in my early Sixtys0
-
I'm sorry Did you bring it up with the surgeon when you saw them yesterday?0
-
That's one of the reasons they are moving it to the other side they are going to repair the hernia and repositon thestoma to the left side0
-
Aaah! sounds like a plan then Good to know they are on the ball with it.0

As Calotti has stated your condition won't get you the PIP you believe you deserve, but pointing out the errors / misunderstanding with actual example of difficulties you have from day to day.0

No one deserves to be awarded PIP. It's awarded if you score at least 8 points in either daily living and/or mobility. Please don't compare others to yourself because it's really not nice to do that. No one knows exactly how anyones conditions affect them. There's also invisible conditions, you may think that someone is perfectly fine on the outside but behind closed doors it could be completely different. You came here asking for advice so how it is possible for anyone to keep everything to ourselves. Please also be aware that they will not take into consideration any worsening of condition.0 -
You can talk to us @bonzoe. So sorry to hear you don't feel like you have been supported in the way you would have liked
I think what people mean to say is the diagnoses themselves (as in their names) don't make you eligible for PIP. However, how your diagnoses affect you are valid.
You'll need to base your PIP application on how your diagnoses affect you to strengthen your application and give you the most consideration.
I hope this helps to clarify! Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we can do to support you0
