I had my first seizure in 2016. Tests showed they were epileptic. Specialist have determined they are caused by stress. I have one every couple of months and they are sleep ones. It was not really an issue until March 2020 when it caused memory loss. I am told it won't come back. It has caused depression. I am sodium valproate. Any ideas on how to this memory back?

Hello and welcome @simonwhu and thanks for sharing a bit about yourself
I'm also sorry to hear about your memory loss. Is this something you've spoken about with your GP, or another specialist at all?
How are you finding managing your depression at the moment, do you have support from loved ones?0 -
well as ever getting a GP appointment is a nightmare. I was seeing a specialist but sadly he died of cancer in 2021 so that's a closed outlet. I do need to find someone else to talk to about this. My wife is very good at helping me so there's no issues there whatsoever. We were in Miami last week for a 10 day break and I couldn't remember anything from going there in November 2019. I am thankful it's not epilepsy but it's very frustrating and upsetting. I wish I could find a new specialist who I could see without, and this a terrible thing to say, without going through the NHS as I know they are under severe pressure.0

I don't think it's a terrible thing to say @simonwhu as it shows that you are aware of- and that you emphathise with- the challenges and pressures that others might be under
I do think that finding the care and support you need is also important though, so I wish you the best in persevering with speaking to your GP. I don't know if a pharmacist might be able to help with anything either?0 -
Yes I will try and get in next week. Thank you0
