I applied for a pip tribunal a few weeks back I was awarded standard rate daily living allowance and no mobility so I wrote a long list and reason why I felt this was wrong (mobility) anyway weeks past I spoke to someone from an action group who on the call basically told me if I go ahead I may lose my standard daily living and was I sure about going ahead so I said oh yeah I’ll cancel so he gave me the details I emailed the tribunal and cancelled, anyway yesterday I get a phone-call from no caller ID saying she was from DWP and that due to my appeal they are now going to award me standard mobility on top of my daily living and will also get a lump sum backdated from last year but then I received a letter today from the tribunal confirming my cancellation, is this right? Lol I don’t want to get my hopes up lol x

The advice you were given isn’t quite correct. Yes you can lose what you already have but if they plan on reducing your points the Tribunal will warn you before doing so. This will then give you time to decide whether to cancel the hearing or continue at your own risk.
If DWP have offered you a standard mobility award and you’ve accepted the yes it must be correct.
If you’re still not happy you can wait for that award to be put into payment and then request another Tribunal.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Well I had read online that’s how it works but I thought surely he knows more than me so I just took he’s word! I mean I’m glad they’ve offered me after I’ve cancelled because the advice he is giving isn’t the best! Thank you so much 😊 I will wait for my letter and also my backdated payment

It's too easy to think someone knows more than you and take their word @MissCT8676. Really glad to hear you feel more informed now though and can do what's best for you.
Wishing you the best of luck with your letter and backdated payment.
