DLA renewals

Are child DLA renewals in the same sorry state as PIP in terms of backlogs? I sent my daughter's back about 4 months ago and am yet to hear an outcome.
Could someone also remind me how far in advance of a review date they usually send a form? Another of my children's ends in 5 months and I haven't heard anything yet.
With thanks

Hello @Adeline
It usually takes around 8 weeks, but there could possibly be a backlog. I would give them a call to check up and you can ask about the review form too. I know the GOV website allows you to print a claim form, I can't see anything about a review form, hopefully this bumps your post and if there is one, someone can link to where it is0 -
Thank you @Hannah_Scope. I still haven't heard anything sadly.0

When I sent off my sons renewal last year, they said they were prioritising new claims over renewals, with them waiting until the last minute to do renewals. My sons ended October 10th 2022 and I rang up on the 8th october, to be told he'd continue to get the same rate as he did, and that the decision was made on the 7th October.
I got the renewals form 3 months before his claim was due to end.
I know this was several months ago for me, but I suspect this may still be the case
