Hi @glenco and a warm welcome to our online community, how's it going?
I'm sorry you've had the section 21 issued, it must feel quite stressful when you are settled in your hmo. With housing, Shelter are the best placed organisation for specialist information and help. Their guide to 'Section 21 eviction' advises:A section 21 eviction notice period must be at least 2 months.Whilst, there is a lengthier section on the help you are entitled to from your council, that I'd urge you to read.
Your landlord can only apply to court after the notice period ends.
An eviction through the courts can take several months.
The bailiffs must give you at least 2 weeks' notice of an eviction date.
These are Shelter's contact details, with options for online chat and a telephone helpline.
Please keep us posted with how you get on. We'll endeavour to help all we can.
Also, just to note - I've amended the title of your thread to reflect the question and moved it to our Housing and independent living category to help others find it more easily.
Best wishes.0
