Hannah, I can't remember any of it so it could be time to read it again!
(I bought every Maya Angelou book and Alex Walker's The Colour Purple was an extraordinary text which gripped me but that's probably my lot in 60 odd years)

You'll find a lot of recommendations over in The Book Nook. But if you like Maya Angelou everyone recommends Alice Walker.
