I don't know if this is classed as boring or not, but it's definitely confusing.

I was told by the doctor at the hospital on the day that I was discharged that I'd be sent a letter for an MRI scan on my bowel, but when I got the letter last week it was for a pelvic ultrasound scan of my reproductive system.
My appointment is for today at a different hospital to my local hospital, but I can catch a free shuttle bus to and from the other hospital.
The only thing is that I'll have to leave early to find out if the bus is gonna stop at the bus stop it usually does or if there's a temporary bus stop in place whilst they're taking down the old bus stop to replace it with a new one.
I only know that the current one is being removed is because my fiance walks past our local hospital on his way to and from work and he'd said that the bus stop in the hospital grounds near the main entrance is all boarded up.
I'd said to him that they should have sorted the bus stop out last night instead of in the day when people need to use the bus as patients use to get to and from the hospitals as do staff who work at the hospitals.
I don't know why the doctor told I need an mri scan, but I've been sent an appointment for a pelvic ultrasound scan for today at a completely different hospital.
My local hospital and the other hospital have merged, but they're at different sites at the moment as the people who decide where the new hospital is going haven't decided where the new hospital is going yet.
Although I did read on the website for my local hospital that when it was originally built there were 3 different hospitals on the site!

I hope your appointment went well @BrianMcFaddenfan07. Keep us posted. I hope the issues with the bus stop didn't cause you too much inconvenience and you were able to get to your appointment on time.0

@Starlingbird I got to my appointment with plenty of time to spare. Although I almost got lost going to and from my appointment as I'm not used to the hospital as I had to go upstairs to the ultrasound place, but it's on the ground floor in my local hospital, which makes it much easier to find. The signs posts are easier to follow in my local hospital too. I even made it back to the bus stop just before the bus turned up and that was via the ladies toilets.0

@BrianMcFaddenfan07 I find one of the most stressful things about hospitals is finding where particular departments are and then trying to get back out! I have no sense of direction and, once my anxiety kicks in, I get in a pickle!
I hope you get your results soon and that everything is ok👍0 -
@BrianMcFaddenfan07 It sounds like you managed really well considering you weren't familiar with the hospital. I'd maybe start making some notes about what you want to discuss with the doctor when you get the results i.e. why the scan was a pelvic ultrasound when you thought it would be an MRI of your bowel. I'm sure there will be a sound reason but just for reassurance.
Good luck and have a lovely Sunday.0 -
