Hi l wanted advised my son is 20 and has lifelong learning disabilty for the past 4 years the LA has given him a tutor to come and teach him at home as he has severe anxiety and is unable to leave the family home and would not let anyone come in the house except for the tutor. So now the LA have decided to cease his EHCPLAN AND STATE THAT he no longer needs it, other than the teacher he has no other support from elese where but has a psycholist involved and she has stated that for his mental health his education should be carried on as he is making little improvement in going out of the house. so my question is what can l do as i have nothing to hold on to except the plan. please someone advise if l should appeal

Hello @anita1973
That sound's so frustrating, I'm so sorry. Are you able to get them all together for a meeting to go through everything?0 -
Hi yes do you mean social care0
-
All of them, the school, the LA, the psychologist. I wonder if having a meeting so everyone gets on the same page would be beneficial?0
-
LA no point. The rest are ok but preparing for Tribunal0

Keeping everything crossed for you!0

Have you tried appealing this yet @anita1973? You know your son's needs the best and it's not because of his age because EHCP's can last up to 25!
As for if you should go through the appeal or not, I say you can only know by giving it a try. However, I recognise the impact this can have on you.
It sounds helpful that you have another professional backing you up too, especially if you are able to provide evidence.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you through this0 -
Hi l just need to write to the tribunal as l am going to appeal but l just don't know how to start it. If you can help me with that it will me great0

Hello @anita1973 I'm afraid that's not something the Scope online community can help directly with, but you may be able to get support from IPSEA.
It's worth asking them, as they may know of other organisations with more tailored support for you0
