PIP mandatory reconsideration

Hi, didn’t get awarded PIP so doing a MR, called them to let them know was going to do this and that I would be putting everything in writing they said that I had until the 17th March to get everything sent into them
Today I received a text message from them saying that they will look at the decision again by the 14th so could be anytime now
I called first thing this morning to query the date to be told that it does say I will be sending more evidence by the 17th
but now I’m panicking as if they look at it before they won’t have everything, surely they can’t give you a deadline date then ignore it

The best thing to do is get it in ASAP, work towards the 17th, remember it's the date they originally gave you, that was confirmed today. Remember the DWP are fickle.

Use the correct form and give 'real world examples' of how your condition effects you day to day. Make sure you get Proof of Postage.

@rebel11 thank you I’m going to try and get it sent off Friday as picking up letters from psychiatric nurse and mental health coach then
I managed to get the form and had someone help me with that and another letter from my doctor I’m now just worried as if it’s the same decision as before then it’s tribunal and even the thought of that is making me anxious

Very few decisions get changed at the MR stage, only 23%, but 73% at the Appeal stage get changed. You've put your best case forward at the MR stage, wait for the decision, but prepare for the Appeal, worrying won't achieve anything, distract yourself when you start to 'overthink' things.

It’s hard but I will try and thank you.
the thing is the decision letter was so contradictory it stated that they decided I needed a couple of things but didn’t actually award me the points for it, if they had I would of got it and the last 2 lines said I cannot award you pip etc etc but then it said I award you pip for a set amount of time 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is the problem when you ring to request the MR, they don't have to wait until they receive any extra evidence. They can make another decision at anytime. This is one of the reasons i always advise that it's put in writing, rather than ring.

Oh ok I called to inform them that I would be doing the MR in writing and sending evidence and that’s when I was given a date for it all to be in by. Makes no sense to give you at date to get things in by if they don’t wait till then
hopefully no one looks at it before 🤞

When ringing PIP you're speaking to someone from a call centre and not someone from DWP itself.
