I’m moving into a new home and read about the DHP payment but when applying form local council(only have online form) it asking me when I moved in.. but I kind of need my rent in advance/deposit so what do I put. Do I lie and backdate it to cover the first month or two… or do I just put when I actually move there and they pay any rent deposit/ first month within a month?

I wouldn't advise you to lie because that's not the correct the to do. You need to tell them what the payment is for and when your moving date is.Those forms are quite complex so if you can i'd advise you to get some help filling it out. This link will tell you what advice agency is local to you. https://advicelocal.uk/welfare-benefits
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
