Should I call to chase?

Good morning, I wonder if someone is able to advise please. This is my first time applying for PIP. I completed my 'How your disability affects you' form and had a text message from Independent Assessment Services on the 31st January this year to tell me they were managing my assessment and would contact me if I need a consultation. It is now over 6 weeks and I still haven't had a date for an assessment. I just wondered if I should chase them up and would it be them I call or DWP? On the IAS website it says appointments are usually within a few weeks of their claim being passed to them by DWP.
Many thanks

The timescale they tell you is just a guide and nothing more. Some are waiting a few weeks and others a few months. You will most likely need an assessment because most people have them, these are mostly by telephone. Once an appointment becomes available you will be contacted.6 weeks isn't really that long to be waiting to be honest. If you do ring then it will be Independent Assessment services you'll need to ring.0
