Is ADP replacing PIP in England (Not just Scotland)? I hope so. It sounds a lot kinder.

I'm pleased it's just Scotland as I don't need to worry but feel sorry for everyone else who's going to have to change to another system.

When I read up about ADP it sounded like a much less stressful, anxiety inducing, judgmental process. My experience of applying for PIP made me so sick, I wouldn’t the experience I had on anyone. While it is ok for many, I’ve also read and spoken to others who found it awful. It’s sorted now, thanks to the support of my GP, medical specialists and MP who intervened, but I wish they’d follow in Scotlands footsteps. PIP is very triggering to anxiety which I’m turn triggers physical ailments. I’m very grateful to have it, nevertheless.

Almost like you wanted it to change to ADP then @LIVEDANDLEARNED. Am I hearing this right? Maybe one day it will!
Glad to hear you managed to access the support to feel better and less anxious, even though I can hear you are also very grateful to have PIPCommunity Volunteer Adviser with professional knowledge of education, special educational needs and disabilities and EHCP's. Pronouns: She/her.
Please note: if I use the online community outside of its hours of administration, I am doing so in a personal capacity only. -

I'm in Scotland and the Adult Disability Payment Process for myself as a first time applicant has been what I thought it would be.
I read up a lot about it before applying as I never even attempted to apply for PIP after reading about people's experience.
I had a telephone assessment after 3 months as I think I missed a lot of the descriptors and also not going into as much detail.
The Health Practitioner that carried out the telephone assessment was very understanding and said back to me in detail each piece of information I gave them in the areas that they thought was missing additional information.
I have physical and mental health issues and they have got progressively worse in the past decade.
Yesterday I found out that the Health Practitioner had written the report and it is now with the Case Manager so it's just about being patient now. I think they said they will get the HP report sent out a.s.a.p but I know it's the Case Managers decision at the end of the day.
I will keep you all updated when I get any new information. -

I forgot to mention that when I last contacted them enquiring about the HP report, the person on the phone said it was with the case manager and it's in the final stages before final approval.
I know we all want to know and they can't exactly tell you but I thought those words "final stages before final approval" sounded promising.
I know that the documentation is all in the post now so hopefully I should receive it soon. -
Oh also they are telling people to expect to wait at least six months now and longer in some cases.
I don't think it's officially changed on their website from the four months expectation but that's what the staff taking phone calls have started telling people.
I know I am one of the over six months applicants and from what I have read I think others are at least that or more.
