Hi guys, my gp advised me to apply for pip due to a quick deterioration in my arthritis, I applied for pip on 10th feb 2023, i had a short phone call and advised id receive an assessment appointment short this phone call was 18th feb 2023. Letter received and appointment for a video assessment was made for 10th March, On the day i joined the video assessment and lady popped up and said my assessment is now a telephone call and someone will ring me, Someone rang me back 5 minutes later. Assessment took about 1hour 20, lady was lovely, was a little difficult to say my issues out loud as I've just got on with it for so long. They received my assessment back on 13th march and 14th i requested my report. Today the report landed on my doorstep i haven't opened it yet.
I still work full time and hoping this doesn't really effect what decision is made.
Any advice to stop worrying i don't suffer with anxiety etc but the not knowing is horrible.

Hi @elise84
It's good to hear you've had a fairly speedy and straight forward experience with applying for PIP. To have a lovely lady do your assessment must have made all the difference.
If the fear of it being unsuccessful is stopping you opening the letter, remember there are various avenues for appeal that we will happily guide you through should it come to it. So many people experience that initial no, but go on to get the award their functional ability merits. We are fully behind you, and I'm sure your friends and family will be too.
Get a cup of tea, a nice biscuit, take a deep breath and when you're ready, give it a little peep. The fear of not knowing is more oft worse than reality0 -
Your timescale has been exceptionally quick up to now. Once the report was returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks. When you open the report (if you do) there will be activities/descriptors somewhere in there. Next to them there will be either a dot or a tick. Use the PIP self test and transfer the dots from the report into the self test. This will then tell you how many points (if any) are recommended. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/pip-test-formThe report is a recommendation only. Although they do mostly go with it, it has been known for them to go against it.

Does working make a difference ? because they did ask all of this and i had to explain all the adaptions work has made for me to continue doing my job0

Although PIP isn't about your ability to work, if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming then it can go against you.
