Hello, Back in December last year I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer . I have also suffered anxiety disorder since 1973 , I am 58 , I've applied for PIP because my recent diagnosis has heightened my condition , the cancer has been removed and i will have follow up appointments every three months . I have agoraphobia and only go out with my husband .
I received a call from the DWP today to answer some questions about my PIP application , I did apply before back in 2016 , but wasn't successful , I never got a call beforehand , I just got a letter through saying I had an appointment for an assessment .
Has anyone lese had a pre call before the application goes for assessment and to see whether a face to face assessment is needed?
Thank you for reading x

I got my PIP from February last year. I had a call from them beforehand to see if I would need a face to face appointment.
I didn't think I would get anything as I did not think I was disabled enough. My mobility is restricted though.
Good luck with your call. The nurse who conducted mine was sympathetic and also asked questions about areas where I had not recorded anything, filling in gaps. I hope yours is as helpful.

You said about being asked about things you hadn't mentioned , same for me , that was where she asked about my schooling and when I mentioned about the boarding school, hopefully that is enough to be awarded .

I've had three messages from PIP since the phone call saying We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write you once we've made a decision on your PIP .As a guide you should hear from us within 8 week, You don't need to contact us unless any of he details you gave us have changed .Thank you ,
Wondering if this is the 12 weeks instead of the 8 they said , because each time I receive a text message it probably sets the clock .0 -
The text messages are standard texts. They tell everyone 8 weeks but it's more like up to 12 weeks. Of course it could be less or more than that.

Yeah that's what I waited back in 2016, but never got any text messages .0

The text messages were not sent back in 2016. They only started sending them sometime last year.
