Bank not showing esa payment

Hi, I'm a little worried as my esa payment normally shows on my online bank as pending which is due tomorrow,  this is the first time it hasn't, does it mean I'm not getting my benefit. I've been on esa for years now.

Pending payments are not always reliable, I've had them not show, then received the payment anyway..on time. In the event that you do not get paid, it will more than likely be a clerical issue, you ring them and they pay in your account within an hour, I've had it happen to me but It's easily resolved. Just make sure you wait until the day your payments due before you call.

So after ringing yesterday they said must be their fault as nothing wrong my side, she said she'd put it through and would be in about dinner time but could take all day, well nothing went in and still nothing this morning, I rang again today but they can't help as don't have the bank access every weekend. He said he'd put it through again Monday, so God knows when I'll get paid. So me and my daughter left with no money for food, gas, totally stressed.

Do you have any family members who you can borrow month from? If not and you have no food or money then you can get a referral to a food bank. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/using-a-food-bank/ some also provide vouchers for energy pre-payment meters. Also your energy supplier maybe able to help with energy, if you run out.

I can see Poppy has shared some excellent suggestions for help @j4e, I'm sorry this is causing you so much stress. Scope also has information on free food and food banks.

Can I ask if you are on the Priority Services Register with your gas supplier? It might be helpful to look into this for future if you aren't already registered.

Let us know how you get on, and fingers crossed the money will arrive before Monday, if not Monday itself!

Thank you all for the advice. I've managed to get some money from the bank to last over the weekend.
It's terrible that no food banks are open over the weekends.

I'm sorry you were not paid, usually they are extremely fast at payment when they are aware of an issue on their end.

    Hello @j4e

I'm sorry this has happened through no fault of your own. I hope you're getting by as best you can  <3

For future reference, Scope have this 'free food and food banks' webpage that lists places you can get food, including the Olio app which is free and accessible over weekends.

Take care and please keep us posted with how you get on.
