I'm waiting on mr I applied due to the symptoms I've had for the past three years making things difficult I wasn't awarded but I put in an MR today I received a letter from the hospital saying I have small fibre neuropathy and that there is no treatment for this and it's about managing pain and needs as it progresses and an appointment has been made to discuss this but there is nothing else neurology can do. Is it worth me uploading this letter or not as I know it doesn't go on diagnosis

Tbf I sent all the test information for me and results whether they are just a diagnosis or not, it can help the decision makers more aware, I would put also how this is effecting you in your everyday life, if you can get a friend or relative to write a letter confirming how the diagnosis effects you that would be helpful,

I would imagine along with the diagnosis there will also be an element of depression and anxiety this can also be confirmed by a supporting letter

good luck with the MR as an aside I would be prepping for a tribunal

Hi @annie4. While PIP isn't based on diagnosis the fact that they've confirmed there is no treatment available might be relevant in terms of duration of any potential award. How long ago did you put in for the MR?

I'd upload it if you feel it would help evidence any ongoing needs, or help explain how you need to manage pain day to day for the foreseeable future.

Best of luck with your MR, let us know how you get on as and when you can :)
