Hi does any one else have severe psoriasis and work?
I work 4 days and I’m absolutely covered in scabs every part of my body has a lesion.
I have tried medication cyclosporin and methotrexate no good for me. Told nothing else available. So Av lived with it . I am embarrassed I work in a clinical environment and get asked often what is wrong with my arms . My face is covered and my scalp itches. Can u claim for pip while working with cost of living going up every penny helps ????

People claim PIP and work because it isn't means tested. However, if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming PIP then it can go against you. It's not awarded based on any diagnosis. Whether there's any entitlement will depend on how your conditions affect you against the 12 PIP activities. You can see them here. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/Global/Migrated_Documents/adviceguide/pip-9-table-of-activities-descriptors-and-points.pdfThere's a more indepth guide here, which will be useful to read to help you have more understanding of the descriptors and what they mean. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteria

Hi @faye2019 and a warm welcome from me, how are you doing today?
I'm sorry you're struggling with severe psoriasis. I have had it mildly and know how impactful it can be in terms of knocking self-esteem. Have the dermatology department not suggested any alternative treatments?
I can see Poppy has advised around claiming for PIP, and I'd encourage you to apply if you believe you'd be able to score enough points to get an award. The support of a welfare represenative might come in handy (you can find one close to where you live via the Advice Local website) as many ways in which our conditions impact us, and we cope, become so habitual that we don't realise our functional ability to carry out activities is actually affected.
Just to let you know, I've amended the title of your thread and moved it to our PIP, DLA and AA category to help others spot it and reply.
Wishing you all the best and please remember where we are if you have any other questions.0
