Why do things that do you good, taste so bad.
Why do things that do you good, taste so bad.
Why do things that do you good, taste so bad
I really, really, don’t know,
I take a tablet for a headache
And it sticks right here in my throat
How does my brain allow me,
to swallow that horrid tablet
with science and advancement
I’m sure that was not in the design
It has no added sugar
and also, has reduced salt
there are no added fats,
and definitely no added oils
OH, please mother nature
Tell me what’s next in line?
So now I have a tooth ache
Which is throbbing all the time.
I went to see the dentist
A needle he gave me,
Some came out the needle
and trickled down into to my throat
You have got to be jesting
my tongue feels like its bloated
and its doubled twice its size
Oh why do things that do you good, really taste so bad.
Who invents these horrid tastes
I think its to trick your brain
And get you to remember
Why you are in so much pain
It could have been avoided
It’s the things you eat, you know?
That wear down you enamel
and, make holes in your teeth
For that food to go.
So next time you eat a doughnut
Covered in sugar and ****
Remember that horrid taste
You won’t want to come back.
Talking of swallowing tablets
I take a few you know
I take quite a cocktail
For things that are not on show
The brain just keeps on going
Its trying to do its best
but I keep taking tablets
to complete a simple quest
The reason that they taste so bad
is to make you really think,
do I need that tablet
Or just put it down the sink.
I have to take what the doctor says
And swallow these foul things
And maybe it will teach me
To take care,
OH, why do things that do you good, really taste so bad.
Dave.

a poem about a poem?
Poem – about a poem.
I want to write a poem
I think you need to know
I need to get some pointers
To see which way to go
I need to have a heading
To set me off I know
But when you get right down to it
You need to let, your mind go
It could be about spring time
Or at the bowling alley
Or up into the mountains
Amongst all that thick, thick, snow
Looking at the sun set
Those golden rays so bright
Or just looking into the pale, pale, moon light
Your mind has no boundary’s
On what it wants to do
Just look inside your self
There’s what you want to do
I stare at my wife, I’ve known her for some time
I look at my kids who I see all the time
I look at my dog, a great big ball of fluff
And makes me think of all the different kinds of stuff
So here I am just wondering what to write about
When everything is in front of me
And that’s without a doubt
So come on all you writers
Who read all the other posts
There is a writer in all of us
Just screaming to get out
It doesn’t have to rhyme
It seem to make some sense
So write down what you think
Just show one line at a time
Can’t wait to see your post
And read what you have put
So come on guys (and girls) get cracking
I’m bouncing, how about you.
Once you start writing
You won’t know when to stop
