I sent off my renewal form for pip in February with supporting evidence. I am using a charity based service who help with the form. Nothing has changed so will I have to do an assessment the DWP when I phoned said they were in receipt of the form and when questioned said it was unlikely that an assessment would be needed. My claim was for three years has anyone got any idea this is my first renewal.

Most people have assessments even for reviews. Paper based assessments are possible but rare. Was it the call centre that advised you that an assessment was unlikely? There’s huge backlogs for reviews at the moment so you could be waiting a considerable length of time. We have members still waiting 18 months after returning the form.My advice would be to concentrate on something else while you wait, though I know that’s difficult.0
