Hi I have recently started the process of appealing a PIPs decision. I have been informed that my application status is ready to list.i have also requested they look at my application without an in person hearing as my anxiety is to bad to attend.how long have people in this situation waited to hear a decision?I originally applied for pips over a year ago and this is still the same application.
Thanks
Thanks

Are you able to have a telephone hearing? The success rate of paper based hearings are extremely low at between 5-8%. Telephone hearings have the same success rate as appearing in person and about 73%.There’s no timescales for paper based hearings.1

Hi @ciarsmum2004 - & welcome to the community. It really is better if you could attend in person as the success rate is about 70%. If you don't appear in person, then the success rate is only approx. 5-8%.The tribunal is made up of a judge, a Dr, & someone with an understanding about disability usually, & all they want to do is understand how your disability affects you considering the PIP descriptors. Often the tribunal will be by telephone or video link, so this could be at your home, perhaps with someone else there to support you.0

Hello @ciarsmum2004
Welcome to the community
I hope you don't feel too anxious about it all, which I know is easier said than done! We are all here if you need to chat or vent, so many have gone through the same process.0 -
Thank you to be honest my anxiety is through the roof but it is helpful being able to vent about it.thanks1
