PIP Award

Morning everyone..
I have this morning recieved a txt from DWP telling me I have been awarded PIP (didnt expect that on good Friday) it says to expect a letter within 2 weeks explaining the award, so i don't know what I have been given yet.
For me.perspnally, I applied at the begining of January, and was told I could do it all online as that's a new thing, so that's what I did, easier for me as I'm severely sight impaired so it would have been impossible on paper. I did the forms and then submitted that along with some evidence (maybe another good thing as it can't get lost in the post then.
I had my telephone assessment on the 20th of March, it lasted an hour, I would say the woman that did my assesment seemed very nice. DWP txt me the same afternoon saying they had got my report.amd then today I got the txt saying I had been awarded.
A fairly short process for me which is nice but I wish it could be the same for everyone, I have read some of the posts here over the last few months and some people really seem to go through the ringer.
I personally never tried for pip previously as I work full time from home and my eyes have gone from perfect to severely sight impaired over the last 5 years and every day is a real struggle now, I just thought there would be people more deserving that may need it more than me and it wouldn't be taken seriously as I work but then after doing the research, I felt I actually might get some help.
Now to wait and see what the actual award is.. thanks guys.

Good news. The texts are automatically generated the morning after the decision was made, which explains why you received the text this morning.

That's great news @Wilsonwinehouse It's always good to hear positive outcomes, it definitely gives our other members more hope as they navigate the process.
I hope the additional money makes life that bit easier for you0 -
Thanks for sharing this with us @Wilsonwinehouse and I hope you're enjoying the bank holiday weekend without the weight of a PIP decision on your shoulders0
