Hi,
I had my PIP phone assessment on 11th March. They said it was with DM on 14th March. I have recieved a copy of my report and am now happy with it. When I asked for report call centre staff said it was still with decision maker. Anyway, I rang PIP yesterday just to see if there was any progress as she said it would be March with turnaround in NI atm. This time staff said they said they are just waiting for a report back from my GP. GP will just have same info as the evidence I provided. Happy for them to do so but just wondered how long this usually takes and if there are certain instances in which they usually do this? I would have thought Capita go to GP not DWP?Thanks x

Sometimes the DWP/DFC in N.Ireland will contact your GP if there's some things that need be verified. In England and Wales the timescales once the report is returned is up to 12 weeks. I have no idea what the timescales are over with you. There's no timescales how long it takes for a GP to send the information across.

Hi Poppy, not so much worried about Timescales just a bit confused as why it would happen after going to decision maker. Assessor was very stern but report indicated 9 daily living points and 12 mobility which is a fair assessment of my daily life. Im just a bit bemused as it feels a bit like my evidence and report has still not verified my health conditions and my gp said they have no such report. How do they make a call if for example the gp just decides not to return, or it ia never recieved etc. Sorry I know you cant be expected to know all. NI timescales they say are 4 weeks from assessment. Im on about that now. Just thought I provided strong evidence, most of which was gp prescription lists and test results and requests for amendments to treatment from my various consultants. Hard not to fall into the loop of, they dont believe me. My GP will be able to verify but really they dont live with me so all they can provide is scan results and med lists which I already gave0

This is one of the reasons i don't usually advise people to request a copy of the report before a decision is made, it often causes more anxiety. The report is not the decision, it's a recommendation. Before a decision is made the decision maker should look at all evidence you sent, including the form as well as the assessment report.Whilst they mostly go with the report, it has been known for them to go against it but it's rare. You've done everything you can for now and you'll just need to wait for the decision. Hopefully not too much longer. Try to focus on something else while you wait.0
