Pip assessment

Hi.
I had my pip assessment last Monday, and I phoned for the report which came on Saturday. When I count up the assessors recommendations, she suggested 8 points for standard and 10 for mobility. These were all to do with my fibromyalgia and she hasn't taken my anxiety and depression into account at all. She mentions them in the report but doesn't think they are strong enough to score points.
I am worried now about the decision. Do the decision makers go with the suggestions. My main concern is that they will score me less and because it is on the threshold I will loose the benefit. But I am also hoping that they will score me higher.
So my question is in 2 really
1. Do the decision maker often score you lower than suggested
2. Do the often score you higher
Thanks for your help

They mostly go with the report, it’s rare they go against it but it can and does happen.
Please remember that PIP isn’t awarded based on any diagnosis.
Once the decision is made if you’re not happy you can request the MR.

Thank you for your reply. It's what I thought, so just cross my fingers now that they at least go with the recommendation. Just have to try and not think about it I suppose. Easier said than done. Hopefully the decision won't be to long.

The waiting sounds really difficult for you at the moment @itsmeyouknow100. Is there anything, in particular, that might make the wait feel more manageable for you at the moment? Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to support you  :)

Thank you, nothing anyone can do really, but just having somewhere that I can vent and people understand is already helpful. I find this the hardest part, waiting for the assessment is stressful, but this is different. I think it's because it's completely out of my hands now, whereas before the assessment I still had a little control over what I could do and say to help with the decision. Its been 2 weeks tomorrow now, so hopefully it will be soon.

A lot of people hope that once the assessment is completed they will be able to relax a little more. This often not the case and the majority of people think the same as you, the anmxiety continues.

Requesting a copy of the report often causes more anxiety, one of the reasons why i don't advise anyone to request it.

Timescale once the report was returned is anything up to 12 weeks.

Just an update. I had my assessment 2 weeks ago yesterday and this morning I had a text saying I had been awarded pip. Which isn't to bad at all considering we had the waster Bank Holidays in between. Not sure what I've been awarded yet, will have to wait for the letter. I may try ringing when it opens but I'm not sure if they will tell me over the phone. I'm so happy now, feels like a wait has been lifted. I applied last year and had no points at all. My advice to anyone applying is to get help. Last year I done it all myself, I didn't think I needed help filling in a form, and got nowhere. I only went as far as the MR and then found it tk stressful. So when I finally got up the courage to re apply, I went to welfare rights and they filled in the form and sorted everything. Thank you so much for your support guys. This forum  has been a godsend in keeping me a little sane.
