PIP Review

My last pip review was horrendous. I went to tribunal and won but the process caused me a great deal of anxiety and stress. My depression worsened and I very nearly said goodbye. I am now trying to complete another review form but am wondering what to do. I have had help from a benefits advisor from my housing association but I still feel that it’s not quite right. Last time I had help from a lady from the DWP and it was a total mess which is why I’m very anxious this time even though I’ve had help again. I don’t want to end up where I did last time either mentally or with the claim. Any advice would be much appreciated.

@Biblioklept
i used the CAB last time and they really weren’t very helpful and there are no welfare groups local to me. The lady from the housing association was a benefits advisor who said that she supported lots of people to complete these and other benefit forms. She worded things much better than I did and cut out my waffle. She put ‘no change since tribunal’ on most of the descriptors and then added to them. I just feel that maybe I need some more information added or can you put to much?She said that she didn’t think I’d have any problem being awarded it again!!I just don’t want to go to tribunal again as I really don’t think I could take the anxiety and stress again so really want to get it right first time if that’s ever possible.0 -
When I had my last pip review I wrote on all the descriptors 'no change'. I just put in doctors information, medication I was on and information of doctor referrals.
I was quite down at the time so just filled in the form myself without really thinking of any consequences.
Few months later received a call and they said that my daily living rate was going up and the mobility staying the same lol made no sense.
Ive seen on here that just putting 'no change' in all descriptors is a bad idea which I agree with but honestly i just don't get pip. especially when I hear people putting in so much evidence and then having to go to tribunals and then people like myself putting no effort and getting accepted. 🤷
Good luck on your review 👍2 -

Good luck on your review 👍Hi,It does seem strange. The only thing I can think of is the quality of the information provided. You may not have provided much, but what you provided may have fully covered the descriptors whereas someone who has submitted reams and failed to get an award may not have done as good a job (which is one of the reasons people fail to get an award / renewal of an award (poorly / insufficiently completed application)).

@life I was very unwell mentally last time and had support from a lady from the DWP to fill the review form in. That was a big mistake. It was so bad and the assessor’s report was so full of lies to the judge asked why I didn’t make a complaint. I’m pleased you got your award. The lady who helped me this the said I would have no problem but I just don’t trust anyone after my last experience. I’m happy with what she’s written don’t think it’s enough so I’ve added more. I have new evidence from my consultants and she has advised me to send a copy of the Tribunal award too.

@Hannah_Scope
thank you . Mentally I am slightly stronger at the moment but it won’t take much to pull me down. I will bear in mind that there is someone to contact for support should I need it.1 -
It is positive to hear you are slightly stronger at the moment @sheZZa. What might help to keep you up? We really are all here for you if there's anything we can do to support you1

@L_Volunteer
I’m due to see a new support worker next week so I’m sure that will help but will keep you in mind if need be. Thank you.1 -
Have you managed to see the support worker yet @sheZZa? If so, I am just wondering how this has gone for you if you would like to share a little more with us about this0

@L_Volunteer
I am seeing the support worker this afternoon. She is attached to my gp’s surgery. I saw my gp last week who said that she would always refer me back to mental health services. I will let you know how I get on.
