Hello @Shambles321
I know it's easier said than done to say don't be nervous, but I am really wishing you the best. I always advise people to do something for them after the tribunal. Whether that be to plan to see a friend or family member, go for a walk to a local café and treat yourself to a piece of cake Just something for you and to keep your mind off it all.0 -
Thank you Hannah0

Hi @Shamble - with a Tribunal you will often be phoned a little beforehand to ensure you're available. There's usually a judge, a Dr., & someone with an understanding about disability. They may just ask questions about those activities/descriptors that they need to understand more about to see exactly how your disability affects you when trying to do any of these 'reliably,' i.e. activity safely, to an acceptable standard, if you can't repeat it as often as would normally be expected, or if it takes you longer than a person without your disability. This is like a fresh start, with you having the opportunity to answer fully about the problems you have. Remember PIP is about how you are the majority of the time, & your answers should be about how you were at the time of your assessment. If there's any question you don't quite understand, say so, or ask them to repeat any if needed. The good news is that currently about 73% of claimants are successful at this stage if appearing in person like yourself.Read through your bundle beforehand, make sure your phone is fully charged, & have a drink close to hand. You can have someone with you for support, but the Tribunal will expect you to answer their questions. The very best of luck too; you can do this.
