Hi, my partner was awarded pip both higher rate back in jan and I have been told I am entitled to Carers allowance which I have applied for on 31/03 I have been reading up and come across some different information that it does not tell you when applying so would like some advice if possible, my partner claims new style esa and receives the lower amount which was £77 a week recently just gone up not sure what too, so what I have read is that if I have a claim for esa I cannot claim Carers allowance however I do not have a claim it’s my partner? Could I have some info on this please? Also I read something that I would still be able to claim and it would be deducted off his esa but there is something called a Carer premium? Could someone advise me would they just reject my claim or what I’m really confused as when applying it did not mention any of this. Thanks in advance! :)

Your partners ESA is their claim, not yours.
You claiming carers allowance will not affect it. If you work and earn more than £139/week you will not be entitled.
Are you claiming any other benefits? If so which ones?

Even though we live together? So his esa claim will not come into consideration? I’ve recently had to stop work all together and currently claiming universal credit

It won't affect the ESA because it's not your claim. You should be claimng Universal Credit as a couple because it's a means tested benefit.
The carers allowance will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement. Does your UC include the carers element? If not then log into your journal and "report a change of circumstances" then tell them you care for your partner for at least 35 hours per week. Your UC will then include the carers element.
Your partners ESA will also be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.
Has your partner reported their health condition for UC? They will also need fit notes for this.
