ive explained to them that I’ve had troubles sorting it out with letting agents and landlord but they won’t listen ,
can I get this to stop?

Paying direct to landlords gives landlords and tenants peace of mind and helps safeguard anyone vulnerable to exploitation. Some bright spark put an idea on the back of an envelope after spending too long in the subsidised House of Commons bar...
He thought because the tabloid press had made a fuss about council estates where entire families had never done a day of officialldeclared taxable work, they would somehow "get educated" into becoming responsible tax paying citizens, if only they were forced to go and collect their benefits including their rent allowance, and then they themselves had to transfer the payment to the landlord.
Disability organisations could see the pitfalls for those unable to manage money, but were ignored, till at last after the inevitable disasters there was a hasty "patch-up" legislation, allowing people to opt-in to having their rent paid directly to landlords again (lives were wrecked of couse by the debts people had by that time)0 -
As advised on your other thread here https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/104589/how-to-stop-rent-payments-going-to-landlord#latest
because you are in arrears with your rent then it’s unlikely you can stop payments being made directly to your LL.0
