Hello to the scope online community
What are your favourite places you like going in summer in uk or abroad.
I like going to Blackpool here in the United Kingdom but if I would to choose somewhere abroad I would have to Toronto in Canada and the niagara falls was breathtaking to see and I would love to go back there one day.
I would like to get other people views they going to in summer here United Kingdom and if had chose somewhere abroad

I really like taking day trips to visit national trust sites If I was to go abroad, well I have a huge list of places I'd like to go I'd say top two are Paris (for the museums) and Italy (for the museums and the food!)0

When I was able bodied I loved driving around the Western United States, California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, but particularly Arizona. I love the lonely desert roads, the mountains and canyons. I loved exploring remote places where I could feel alone yet was never an hours drive from a comfortable hotel bed and a good restaurant! In Europe I liked to travel around Italy on the train. As I got older I went to Rhodes Town and Ca'n Pastilla every year where I made friends, and would go to Luxor (where I knew lots of ex-pats and some really nice local people) 3 times a year.
In England my favourite 2 places are The Isle of Wight and Hunstanton in Norfolk. With the exception of my first dog I have taken all my dogs to the Isle of Wight and swam with them in the sea, always staying at Sandown. My first dog Pip (when I was a young teenager) I would take swimming at Hunstanton. When I moved back home to London I would visit my sister in Kings Lynn and a day out at Hunstanton with my sisters 2 dogs was de rigueur.
I went to Folkestone quite often with my dog Fluff. She could swim for England. Plus Folkestone had a passable London Pie & Mash shop!
But now I am disabled I can only visit places within a few miles radius of where I live on my mobility scooter. But I have plenty of places to visit within that radius to spend an hour or two so think positively and count my blessings.
@Globster Thank you for this post; it had brought back wonderful memories. When I was young guy I lived in Blackpool (this would have been around 1974 or 5, the year there was a drought and you had to get water from standpipes). My partner and I worked the clubs there: The Central Club, The No1 Club, The Blackpool Artistes Federation - all of them. Then after The Illuminations when Blackpool died down we would go for the winter to Preston or Sheffield, where there was plenty of work. So your post has made me revisit my past and remember matters long forgotten.
@Hannah_Scope I hope you are able to travel to Italy for the museums and food! Head for Florence. It is full of tourists crowds that I hate but it is the world's most beautiful city (nothing will prepare you for seeing The David at The Academy, I think it is called, nor for traipsing around the Uffizi, and Florence has some really good restaurants).
