Pip award

Hi all, I rang for the PIP form for my Daughter in April 2022 and was hoping a local Charity could fill it in with her as I have so many health problems myself I didn't feel able, they told me due to a back log it was a 9 month wait at earliest so PIP form never got completed
Next thing various Capita assessments came through the post which my Daughter couldn't participate in she has bad BPD and wouldn't come on the phone. At the end of March 2023 DWP called me saying they'd have to send off the only thing they'd got to the decision makers (which was a Mental health letter via the Doctors) as Emillie hadn't provided anything else.
On the 3rd April I received a text saying you have been awarded pip and a letter is to follow etc, I was elated. NO decision letter has come though INSTEAD an 'amount letter' saying what the weekly rate will be but NOTHING ELSE, no award date, nothing, it definitely has her NI NO on and her name but to date she's not been paid anything either.
Now I'm getting worried somethings wrong, can they award PIP based on her medical letter alone and why would they send us a weekly rate letter but no full decision letter FIRST, It's impossible to get through to them and I'm worried sick if it's a mistake because I keep reading people got paid 3-5 days after text so has she infact been awarded it because where's the decision letter AND money?. We definitely had a text saying it was awarded but that was over 2 weeks ago, can anyone help because I've spent hours trying to get through? Thanks

If there's any money owed then i would have expected her to have received it by now. Unless she was transferring from DLA.

Telephone lines for PIP do seem to be busier than usual at the moment because we've had a lot of people saying they can't get through. Try ringing as soon as they open (9am), this usually works for me.

    Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Hi @poppy123456 no she's not transferring it was a new claim but shouldn't they send a decision letter an in their text not just a weekly rate amount letter?

She should have also received the decision letter. The PIP uprating letters are automatically generated this time of year to those in receipt of PIP.

There seems to be issues with getting through to PIP at the moment because a lot of members are saying the same thing.
