PIP payment help!

Hello,
I am new to this forum, so wanted to firstly say hello, and thank you to any responses I get on my thread.
To cut a long story short, I applied for PIP last April (2022) after firstly being rejected, going through a mandatory consideration and then on to a tribunal. I was made aware on 27/03/2023 that I had ‘won’ my case, and that I was eligible for the standard daily living component as of April 2022.
I spoke with PIP last week and the man asked me the questions about if I had been in hospital, abroad for a long period of time etc.
He then said the back pay I’m owed from last year to present would be processed once he’s passed over to the relevant team to process it through.
Thought I would give them a call today just to see when it’s expected roughly. (I suffer with severe anxiety and been losing sleep- so was more to put my mind at ease)
As I was going through the process of pressing the right numbers to put me through to the correct department. The automated lady asked when my last payment from PIP was… Of course I couldn’t answer that as I’ve not received a payment!?
Then the same automated voice said my next payment is due on 16th May for X amount (worked out to be the usual 4 weeks worth of standard daily living I think)
but if that’s the case, surely I should of had a payment yesterday, as then that would be 4 weeks from that date, to when the 16th May is..
Is that how it works? Or with waiting on back pay is it different?
Thank you!

Hello @NatLouH92 and a warm welcome to the community.

First of all, a huge congratulations on winning your appeal and being successfully awarded.

It sounds like you're understandably anxious about the timing of your PIP payments and back pay.

Unfortunately the automated message isn't always accurate especially for first payment. Hopefully it'll be this

If you're still feeling anxious or uncertain about your payments, it may be worth contacting PIP again and getting put through to a person to see if there have been any updates on your case.
