Hi,
I have been awarded enhanced on both components. I only receive child tax credit and child benefit. Do I need to let HMRC know that I have been awarded PIP? I thought I don’t need to let them know as PIP is not means tested benefit it’s not classed as an income.

If it’s only child tax credits and not working tax credits as well then you do not need to tell them.If you receive working tax credits then it can include the severe disability element. The severe disability element of child tax credits won’t apply to you.0

@poppy123456 yes I only receive child tax credit and child benefit. I don’t receive working tax credit.I receive pip for myself. So there is no need to let them know even when I receive a backdated payment from pip too ? My pip payment will be made in May.Thank you0

The money that’s owed to you will not affect your tax credits.0

Hi @leah2007 just wanted to say congratulations on getting your PIP awarded, I hope Poppy has been able to reassure you about child tax credits.
Is there anything else we can help with in the meantime?0
