PIP..i applied for PIP last June 2022 which was refused, my telephone assessment gave nil points. Went through MR still the same. CAB have helped me go to tribunal which as normal is taking forever.
I have opted for face to face tribunal but wonder if the Judge will see the documents before and is the Judge able to make a decision without me attending?
Just to add, had a stroke last march which sparked off a resurgence of ptsd which wont go away.
Latest refusal centres on my ability to drive even though that is only ever with the wife and in an automatic due to ruined right arm. Cant cook, cant cut my own food etc etc

It’s rare for them to make a decision before the hearing takes place. Most hearings take place through telephone so you can change it to this. The success rate is the same as appearing in person. Please also be aware they won’t take into consideration any worsening of condition.0

Thanks for your reply, i guess i will have to just wait for ever for tribunal.
Is it just me or do the DWP purposely make life as difficult and stressful as possible for everyone?0 -
Hi there @etcher thanks for reaching out, claiming benefits can be incredibly stressful, especially when you are challenging a decision, so it's understandable that things can feel pretty frustrating.
Sometimes it's good to have a vent, and I'm sure there's plenty of members here who would resonate with the way you feel!
While you're waiting, is there anything we can do to help in the meantime?0 -
I contacted my MP regarding the waiting time and had a reply.
He contacted Nick Goodwin the CEO of HMCTS who says that his team have investigated and that i will receive a date for my tribunal hearing very soon. I just wonder what 'very soon' means.

Just received a date for my PIP tribunal.
Is it possible that DWP will make an offer before tribunal date to save on costs?
I believe this is something they have done in the past but wondered if its still a possibility.
