Hello, I am new to this I have looked at quite a bit of information but  my 9 year old Granddaughter that has high functioning Autism, Could really benefit from a blue badge , Although she can walk I am going to apply for a Blue Badge as she is very unpredictable, she runs off or takes flight she is very sensitive to smell , She has started her menstrual Cycle which can be harrowing for anyone let alone a 9 year old needing the toilet or being parked near to school as she lives 3 miles away Any Tips please !
Also my friend has PTSD , Depression, Anxiety and Osteoarthritis and been put on LCW in MAY 2022 without him realising what this is ! But  he should be on LCWRA so I have put in a Mandatory Reconsideration any Idea how long this takes and do they backdate this money as its £390 a month a lot of money to miss out on all through the winter this could have paid for his heating  Any Tips Please
Thanks in Advance

For a blue badge for your granddaughter if she doesn’t automatically qualify then you will need to send supporting evidence.

For the MR for your friend it can take anything up to 12 weeks. If found to have LCWRA the extra money will be from the 4th month after they first reported their health condition/sent first fit note. Please also note that before the April benefits increase the amount for LCWRA was £354.28/month.

Hello @NannyPammy and a warm welcome to our online community, how are you doing?

It sounds like you're a wonderfully supportive grandma (or nanny!) and have your granddaughters best interests at heart. Contact have an advice page about Blue badge disabled parking permits for disabled children that may be helpful and in respect of her starting her period, I'd speak with her teacher or the SENco to explain what is happening and see if anything can be done in school to alleviate distress i.e. having some protected time to visit the toilet before leaving school.

Wishing your friend well with his MR too. If we can support you in any other way, please let us know. We're about 24/7 so never feel alone  <3

Take care and have a lovely night.
