Anyone had arthroscopy?

Hi, I tried to google, I tried to find posts here, but there is not much...Did anyone had arthroscopy, and recovered fully after? To the point of going back to work? I am off work for two months now, my knee was in pain even earlier, but it gave up completely two months ago. I work in a very busy shop, plus I am carer, so I do walk a lot. I am still waititng for someone to finally refer me for MRI scan, and then maybe decision about arthroscopy. My question is- can you actually fully recover, to the point that I could come back to work? I would like to hear about your experiences. I am just sitting at home, thinking, maybe I should start thinking about trying to find another job. Even if I don't want to, I like both of my jobs, and I do not want to lose them, but it feels like impossible thing to ever go back to normal for me. It is not arthritis, my Xray was fine, we are thinking my cartilage is damaged. But it is all MAYBE, as I didn't have MRI scan, so we don't know really what is happening with my knee.

I had an arthroscopy many years ago. It is a keyhole op & they snipped off, cleaned up & took away the torn & damaged cartilage that was causing the problem. Immediately afterwards it was very painful, then, after a few days, there was no looking back. I returned to work a little while after, when it was comfortable to do so. I was left with two small 1cm scars & a fully working, painfree knee. If yours turns out to be similar damage, that's roughly what to expect. Good luck, I hope you get your scan soon & the treatment you need.

@JessieJ thank you so much for this!!!!!Finally a light ina tunnel! You seriously cannot imagine how happy you made me feel now. I hear stories from my friends, and they are not good, and obviously sitting at home all the time does not help, as I got lots of time to think:-) I am so glad it all went well for you, and that gives me hope:-)Thank you again so much for replying:-)Take care and all the best to you:-)

You're welcome, @Superbetty :) It's so easy to overthink things & then get too worried. All the best to you too & I hope you are treated very soon.
