Hi, my friend is applying for PIP, she is waiting for a knee replacement. She is also having serious problems with her hip and waiting to see her consultant. She has lost her job due to sickness levels, not capability., this was over a yesr of meetings, procedures were followed. She did get another job but gave up after 2 weeks as the pain was too much standing all day. She is not sure if she will get PIP but has applied. If she has a knee replacement and, if necessary, a hip replacement, will she have to inform PIP, will she no longer be able to claim PIP once she has had her operation ? She is 62 this year, and any advice would be appreciated as she is so worried about her interview, although to date she hasn't had a date. Thank you.

If she's successfully awarded once the op has been completed, if theres's improvement which may means there's no entitlement to PIP then yes she will need to report the changes.1
