Could it have been a compliance officer?

Hi all
Ok so a women showed up at our house but I was busy helping mom ( I'm her full time career) and couldn't get to the door in time and once I did she drove off.
We're now wondering who this women is as she left no card or anything to phone her or to tell us why she's here.
I phoned our landlord ( a housing association) who confirmed it wasn't them and since a few members have been having interviews with compliance officers we were wondering would someone from the DWP just show up like this without sending a letter or even phoning us?
Mom doesn't want me to phone the DWP incase it's not them as she doesn't seem to think it is them as they always send letters or phone and I'm not sure if they'd even do home visits.
Anyway just wondering if they would come out the blue like this and leave without even giving a number to phone on or if it's likely someone selling something like mom thinks?

It's highly unlikely to have been anyone from DWP because they don't do compliance interviews in your home and they wouldn't turn up without prior notice. Compliance interviews are usually by telephone, unless it's an interview under caution and then it would be an appointment at your local Job centre. It's very likely something completely different.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

@poppy123456 I've also found other threads on other forums saying about house visits so it could have been a compliance officer but I'd still find it strange since we never received a letter or phone call and surely if she was a compliance officer she'd leave a number to phone her on.

I still think it's highly unlikely to be anything to do with DWP. It was most likely just someone knocking your door for something completely different, which of course does happen. If there's a slightest chance that it was and you've done nothing wrong then you have nothing to worry about.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. Is there any reason why you think it was someone from DWP?
