Pip phone assessment over 2 hours

On Wednesday I had an awful pip assessment over the phone, it took 2hrs 14 mins, she contradicted and questioned everything I said and kept going over and over the same things.
I was in pain and physically and emotionally exhausted!
is it normal for these assessments to take this long?

I still haven’t had the text to say my assessment has been sent to dwp, how long does this usually take and how do I ask for a copy?
Thank you :-)

Yes they do sometimes take more than a couple of hours.Sometimes the report is returned the same day but not always. If the report is in audit it will delay them returning it, if it is then it’s nothing to worry about, it just means they are checking the assessor did their job correctly.1

My assessment took just under 2 hours and they took a week to send back to dwp2

Thank you hopefully they will send the assessment after the bank holiday :-)0

@emk99 I'm sorry it made you feel so exhausted, I hope you've rested up! I would definitely treat yourself to a piece of cake or something similar!1

@Hannah_Scope
it was exhausting and the stress has thrown me into a painful flare 🙈
I had a large glass of wine and some chocolate! Lol I barely drink but definitely deserved one after that now just keeping my fingers crossed for a good outcome but know it will probably be a long while before I know0 -
You definitely did! @emk99 I hope you join in with us on the community In the Coffee Lounge is where we play games, have debates and get to know each other better.
I hope your flare subsides soon! 🤞1 -
Its been 10 days since assessment so I just called as I haven’t had the text to say they received the report (I want to request a copy) and they said it could take at least 3-4 weeks for them to receive it 🙈 is it normal for it to take that long for dwp to get the report ? Thank you0

If the report was chosen for audit then this delays it being returned to DWP. If it is then there’s nothing to worry about it just means they are checking the assessor did their job correctly.1

Thank you for your response, I hope if it’s in audit it doesn’t take too long 🤦🏼♀️0

Let's hope so @emk99! Please don't hesitate to let us know if you wish to talk about this further or if there's anything we can do to support you

My report was audited and the assessment took over 2 hours.. i got another phone call 6 days later with the same person that did the assessment because there had been a few things mentioned in the audit.. it only took about 20 mins for that one and DWP received my report 10 days after the second phone call and I got a text 10 days after that to say I have been awarded.. I know it varies wildly from person to person but thats my experience, hopefully that helps.1

Thank you!
The report did go to audit but I had the text last Monday to say dwp received it, so thankfully wasn’t too delayed. I did request a copy when they received it so hoping it comes today, just the waiting game for decision now, I really hope it’s a good outcome and I’m not sure I can cope with appeals etc 🙈2 -
Has it come yet @emk99? If not, hopefully, you will receive it really soon. Please don't hesitate to let us know how things are going for you and if there's anything we can do to support you1

Hi,
Yes the report came, I’m hoping they go with the assessors suggestions as that would be standard daily and low mobility, better than nothing even though I feel it should have been enhanced daily.I was disappointed with the report though, she scored me 0 on anxiety/panic attacks on the engaging one as I attended assessment alone (little one was poorly and the person who would have been with me was caring for him last minute and I told her this) although the written report states about my depression/anxiety and panic attacks when I leave the house.
She also lowered points as I filled the form out myself showing ‘adequate pincer grip’, it’s was done online so I never held a pen 🙈
She also scored me 0 on medication even though she mentions I use and aid (pill box/app/alarms) and my husband supports me with filling my pill pot and doing my injections.
I have had a text this morning saying we still haven’t made a decision… I hope they do make decision soon as the waiting is making me anxious0 -
I’ve never had an f2f assessment under 3hrs (my longest was looooonnnnng!) - I think I’ve been very unlucky
award have both gone up and gone down afterwards so for me at least time of an assessment doesn’t seem to impact decision
but there was 2 weeks gap between your two texts so don’t quote me on this but your claim is moving at good speed and you look like your at the final stage (could be any length of time but for some (not all) it’s within the fortnight)
a lot of people on this forum got a text the first half of May (I’m nervous I haven’t got text type no 2 yet personally but it’s next to impossible to predict if that’s bad or good)0 -

Not everyone will receive all the texts.
