PIP after Fasciotomy

Hello,
Im Mary, I’m 33 and I’m in need of some advice! I had routine leg surgery in February which went wrong and I developed Compartment Syndrome! It took them over 24 hours to notice anything was wrong despite me being in agony (whole different story 🙄) I ended up having a bilateral fasciotomy to both sides of my leg (if you like gory things, google it) and was in hospital for 1 month where I had 5 surgeries to try and save and reconstruct my leg.
As a result of this I have lost 40% of the muscle in my lower leg due to surgical debridement of dead tissue. I have also been left with a complex nerve injury, foot drop and severe neuropathy. I have been told this will be permanent and it is now classed as a life changing injury. I am unable to feel my foot, move my foot or toes. I am currently wearing a boot whilst waiting for a custom AFO to be made. I can’t walk unaided and am using crutches with the hope of eventually moving to use a stick.
On paper, all this sounds so black and white for PIP right?
I’ve never had to claim anything in my life and I’m so anxious about the whole process. If anyone has had a similar claim, or any advice they can give it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you so much!
