PIP Award Review Extension and State Pension Age

Hi all

I currently only receive standard daily living rate and my PIP was meant to expire this month. I received my review form around September 2022 and sent it off in October 2022. I have gotten a couple texts saying that they are progressing the review (I haven't had an assessment for this review yet).

Just a week ago, I was sent a letter saying that they have not completed my review and they will be extending my PIP claim until May 2024. I have two questions regarding this extension:

- I am due to reach State Pension age in June 2023, before the extension deadline. I have gotten worsening mobility problems, which I have mentioned and evidenced in my award review claim. I currently don't receive anything for mobility (only daily living). I understand I would still continue to get PIP after I reach State Pension age but I was wondering, would I be able to get a mobility component (if I am entitled to it) despite the form being sent when I was 65 and the extension of my current award being when I am 66.

- If that is allowed and I am awarded a mobility component, would this be backdated to when I submitted the review form, despite it being a review form and award being extended?

Thanks!

Even if the decision is made after you reach state pension age you can still be awarded the mobility part.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
