My pip telephone assessment was 9th May 2023 this was a review of pip  for which I returned forms   may 2022 . After telephone assessment  3 hours later  recieved text from dwp saying they'd recieved health assessment and I hear of them in 6 wks . I'm now hoping my assessment went well and I get a possitive outcome . I feel assessment went OK but I'm also nervous thinking I may not get a new award . Hopefully I won't be kept waiting 6 wks as after a year of waiting for them review me its been so stressful not knowing  . I also wanted to ask if award was to be higher then previous award would payment be back dated as its a long time to wait and feel my health as got worse .

Timescales for decisions are more like up to about 12 weeks after the report was returned, rather than the 6 weeks you were informed.

As it's a review started by DWP they don't usually owe any money if any new award is higher. However, because of the delays with decisions they have been known to owe some people some money but not everyone. You'll just need to wait to see what happens with that.

@foxyalf,usually it is between 2 to 12 weeks, but I had my assessment 12 weeks ago and still waiting. I am from West Midlands area,I don't know, maybe there is some kind of a backlog here 🤔🤔

@concon07 ,review...and I was told, because it is a review it might take that long, even longer. New claims have "priority" 😉 So I am waiting patiently,I mean I'm trying.

That’s a standard text. Decisions can take anything up to about 12 weeks after the report was returned.

Hi @foxyalf 🙂 You have to be patient, but I know it's not that easy. I wish you didn't have to wait very long for a decision 🤞

Oh no, flares can be horrid @foxyalf :( What usually helps you when you are having flares? Have they made the decision yet?

If so, I am wondering if you would like to share a little more with us about how this has gone for you. We are listening to you and will help you if there is anything we can do  :)

Hi emailed rheumatology several times asking for a steroid injection but after no replies got emergency app with my regular doctor and she told me to go to urgent care at the hospital got admitted with sceptic arthritis 12 hours of waiting for a bed and having painkillers and antibiotics intravenously and told I won't get a bed as full so have to carry on being treated in Aand E waiting room which was too overly full I discharged myself so now recovering at home on 2nd lot antibiotics yesterday received automated email saying cannot email them anymore as email closed and can only phone and the will be in touch in 3 working days so I have left message now waiting still unable to do anything and cant upload anymore evidence for PIP and no heard nothing more other than they will make decision on or before the 8th june which has now past so upset
