My pip telephone assessment was 9th May 2023 this was a review of pip for which I returned forms may 2022 . After telephone assessment 3 hours later recieved text from dwp saying they'd recieved health assessment and I hear of them in 6 wks . I'm now hoping my assessment went well and I get a possitive outcome . I feel assessment went OK but I'm also nervous thinking I may not get a new award . Hopefully I won't be kept waiting 6 wks as after a year of waiting for them review me its been so stressful not knowing . I also wanted to ask if award was to be higher then previous award would payment be back dated as its a long time to wait and feel my health as got worse .

Timescales for decisions are more like up to about 12 weeks after the report was returned, rather than the 6 weeks you were informed. As it's a review started by DWP they don't usually owe any money if any new award is higher. However, because of the delays with decisions they have been known to owe some people some money but not everyone. You'll just need to wait to see what happens with that.0
