It's something to do with the moon's gravitational pull.
LOL - no I didn't know that.
Did you know that if we kill off all the bees, then human life will cease to exist, because we need those bees.1 -
Did you know that if you buy spring onions and only eat the green part, you can put the ends in water and they keep regrowing.1

I am full of very useless and random facts.
Did you know the National Animal of Scotland is the Unicorn?1 -
I want to say I vaguely did know that but might be making that up.
Did you know the windscreen wiper was invented (by a woman) well before cars became commonly owned items, she received almost nothing because by the time cars became popular her patent had run out and anyone could use it.1 -
no, I didn't know that.
Do you know that food lasts a lot longer than the labels would lead you to believe. (I once ate chicken 5 days past it's use by date and it was fine. I also had some milk in my fridge for a couple months and it was still fine - I don't drink much milk).1 -
(bending the rules slightly) I didn't know that Jimm thinks mashed potato is bad - over to you Jimm0 -
I usually get cravendale milk because it lasts much longer @Autism_at_40 but might change to the normal version.

I did not know that @THE_DUDE!
Did you know, while for cooking and eating we call them berries, botanically (plant science) strawberries and raspberries are not actually berries!1 -
I didn't know that. Is that something to do with their seeds being on the outside of the fruit?
On a similar note did you know the banana IS a berry?1 -

The botanical term also states that it is "a fruit with seeds and pulp". So while a bell pepper is also from a single 'ovary' it is not a berry because it has air inside it, not pulp.
Bananas are indeed a botanical berry, as are watermelons and tomatoes. Blueberries are a berry both botanically and in cooking, and then strawberries and raspberries are not botanically berries, but they are in cooking. Science can be odd sometimes, we named these fruits before the definitions were scientifically made.
Did you know the Magnetic North Pole moves? While your compass is generally still very useful far away, the closer you get to the North Pole the more incorrect it is about what is "True North"!0 -
I did know that.
Did you know that humans can’t walk in a straight line without a visual point? If blindfolded, we gradually walk in a circle.
It seems like our brain needs a reference point to keep us on track!

I stumbled upon this once, when I was marching on the spot with my eyes closed, when I re-opened my eyes, I was surprised to see I was facing the other way!
Did you know that there is a thing called the Mandela Effect, because there are a large number of people who thought that Nelson Mandela died in prison (I am one of these people), and it started people noticing lots of other little changes in things they remember happening.1 -
yeah the monacle thing is a Mandela Effect!
I think I vaguely recollect that about honey.
Did you know that you change the vibration of water by talking to it?0 -

Did you know that Giraffes are 30 times more likely to be hit by lightning than people?0 -
No, but I suppose they are tall enough to attract it lol.
Did you know that although a lot of people use their star signs for horoscopes, it's actually their rising sign that is more accurate?0 -
I did not know that, admittedly I don't know much about astrology. I mostly just used to get upset when people kept getting astronomy and astrology confused! Very different things.
@Biblioklept bringing up monopoly reminds me.
Did you know that Monopoly is based off a board game designed by a woman (Elizabeth Magie) in 1903 called the Landlord's game? It was meant to show how allowing Landlords to grab up most of the land was detrimental for the majority of people. The point of making people bankrupt and how eventually there would only be one person with all the money was meant to show how it's maybe not a good thing!
And then a company took the idea and made it into a game where it's a good thing to get all the money and make everyone else bankrupt.
Also, as an enjoyer of boardgames I think it's not a very good boardgame. Any boardgame that kicks players out, instead of choosing a winner, is not very good. In a good boardgame everyone should be playing up until the final moment the winner is chosen.0 -
Interesting, I did not know that.
Did you know that the parsley on your meal when you go out, isn't just a garnish. If you save it to the end, it's good for your breath and your teeth health too.1 -
Did you know…
The saying ‘toe the line’ comes from when prisoners had to put their toes up to a line before they were executed. The term ‘screw’ for a prison warden was given because prisoners had to spend hours turning handle and the wardens would tighten the screws to create a greater resistance.0 -
