Contacting DWP

Hi, I'm new here. I receive PIP, enhanced care and standard mobility. I am currently asking for a Mandatory Reconsideration for my mobility element, as I was awarded 10 points, and my mobility is such that I really need a motability car. I have asked Fightback4Justice to represent me, and they require all my previous DLA/PIP award documents. I have tried to phone DWP a dozen times today. I finally got through, was put on hold for 49 minutes, then cut off when I got to speak to an advisor. Is there any other way to contact DWP other than by phone? It is so frustrating! TIA

The best time to ring is usually as soon as they open. For the MR this should be put in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. Whether it’s possible to score at least 12 points for the mobility part will totally depend on exactly how your conditions affect you. Needing a mobility car is not going to help your claim. As for fightback I can’t say I agree with these people that like to charge for the service they provide. There’s advice agencies out there that will help you for free. See link https://advicelocal.uk/welfare-benefits1
