Just to advise, I've created a new thread for your question and edited the letter you to remove your partner's surname. I've also removed a duplicate of this question you posted on another thread to keep all answers in this one spaceNothing to worry about, I know when you're unfamiliar with different communities, it can be confusing.

That's very poor advice you were given. Of course it will affect your claim from the day you were living as a couple.
