Hi could anyone help in answering a question plz pip sent a letter saying they extended my pip for 12mth but my review is still with a case worker and I could hear before has anybody else had this also I rang them up to say I've further evidence of my condition getting worse to be told I need to make a new claim im really confused can anyone please help me thank you.

Yes, they are extending awards because the backlogs with review decisions. Your award will continue anyway until a decision is made on your review.

That's very poor advice you've been given there and not surprising really because call centre staff have very little knowledge of the benefits system.

You can't start a new claim because you're already claiming PIP. You can send more evidence at anytime because you're still in the process of waiting for a review decision.
