Hi, I recently had my esa assessment, dating back to 2020, I've been moved to support group, so I am owed back pay, I was told I had to write a letter to say why I'm entitled, disgraceful, I've done this, who can I contact to help me if they still say no

I assume this is because it was a review started by DWP because usually for this the extra money starts from the date the decision is made.If you reported changes to your health condition, then it will be from the date you reported those changes. If they have already refused to backdate it then i would treat this as a Mandatory Reconsideration. When writing the letter you need to make sure you tell them that you're requesting this. Tell them that because you waited so long for the decision you think you should be owed some money. Had the decision been made sooner and you were placed into the Support Group at that time then you would have been entitled to extra money a long time ago. It wasn't your fault there was such a longer delay with the decision. For expert advice see link. https://advicelocal.uk/welfare-benefits

I have had 3 before and had to take to a tribunal each time, and the back pay always went back to when the assessment started, I never been awarded straight away, I wrote a letter saying that I would have been better of with dealing with my health, as I paid privately to see a chiropractor, I'm just wondering who can help if they still refuse, I've done what I've been told by them, letter stating why I am entitled etc0
