Hello

I sent my first fit note 2 may 2023

I was awarded lcwra 29.06.2023

My statement is generated 12 each month

I have now temporary job with 16 hours a week which is hard to work for me, but its Just 2 months contract.

Because I earned 710 gbp, they lowered my UC to 0 last time.

Now 1 day ago they awarded me a lcwra

My question is do I have now any work allowance (631), or I have to wait 3 months for work allowance too?

I will stop working after 1 more month because it is too hard for me to work.

My second question is, when I will get any extra money?

2 may +3months is 2 august
But when they will pay?

Thank You for help

The Work Allowance will apply from the date the LCWRA starts which should be from the UC period in which you reported the health condition on 2nd May. You will before be due some arrears because they will need to recalculate the earnings deduction.

The LCWRA element will be payable for the first UC monthly period that starts after 2nd August. Looks to me as if your first payment will be in September.

Your waiting period will be May to August.. LCWRA starts from August 6th to Sept 5th and first payment will be 12th Sept. This is because UC is paid 1 month in arrears and you receive your first payment at the end of the 4th month.

The work allowance will apply from the assessment period in which you reported the changes/sent your first fit note... April/May. If you claim for help with the rent then your work allowance is £379/month, if you don't it will be £631/month.

As you didn't previously have the work allowance then they will owe you some money for that. There's no LCWRA element owed.

So regarding of Work allowance, i will get first work allowance in 2may to 2 june assesment period is that correct? Because fit note was sent 2 of may?

So in 12 july they should calculate june month work allowance + uc standard rate of july. And it should be paid 16th of july, is that correct?

And can I go abroad for 14 days in September or it is not allowed?

    Thank You very much

Sorry, i thought your payment date was 12th of every month but i now see it's 16th of the month. Therefore your first payment for LCWRA element will be 16th Sept.

The work allowance will apply from AP 10th April to 9th May. Therefore you will have the work allowance applied in your July payment. Any money owed from previous earnings will be paid as a separate payment.

When claiming UC you can go abroad from up to 1 month so yes you can go on holiday for 14 days. You have no work commiments so you do not have to tell them you're going.

    Thank for Your answer

I sent fit note 2 of may

And You are saying that they will apply work allowance from 10 april do 9 may AND after that as well? In june july etc

Why from 10 april if I sent fit note 2 of may?

Should it be after 2 may?

Just asking, please can You explain?

Another question when it will be paid as separate payment? (the previous work allowance)

And is this True that I dont have to tell anybody when go abroad?

    Thank You very much!

Because you sent your fit note in AP 10th April to 9th May. This counts for the work allowance to apply from. The waiting period starts from 10th May because you reported your first fit note in the middle of your previous AP which doesn't count. Yes the work allowance will apply to every month after this where you received earnings.

It's not a payment you receive as such, it's earnings that are disregarded so you will see that in the calculations on your statements.

Yes, it's true because you've been found to have LCWRA then you have no work commiments so you do not need to tell them you're going away. You just need to make sure it's for less than 1 month.

Just want to clarify something, if they took away 200 gbp from my april UC payment because of my work, they will pay it back right?

    Or no?

No, not from your April payment. Work allowance will apply from AP 10th April to 9th May with payment being 16th May, so it will be from then the work allowance will apply.

looking for some advice .I have autism and smi and have been working with cab .now get uc and trying to geet uc50 form for lcwra, they won't give me one and insist on a telephone assesment despite mutism .They wrote and said its for esa which i dont get.
i applied for it but was turned down ,i only wanted it to go towards pension contributions, they sent me work capability form ,then wrote and said as i hadnt worked in 2 years to forget it and bin the form.I did .The assesment is for esa lcwra ,i emailed and said don't get esa ,never had it on uc,they say just do the telephone interview and the results will count towards uc.Guy from cab like me are waiting for uc50 to fill it in.Thought you only get telephone assesment if they needed extra help if uc50 wasn't clear enough, but i've nerv filled one in.
Fit notes state autism and smi ,which is never going to change .
Any advice would be great ,as the telephone assesment is on Tuesday, cab guy is on holiday and they have sent me about a million texts and emails constantly reminding me of this telephone assesment

@Glaitness The reason you received the ESA50 form is because you applied for New style ESA. Even though you're not entitled to any payments they will have still referred you for a work capability assessment.

The ESA50 and UC50 forms are identical and the process for the work capability assessment is edentical for both. ESA here. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/capability-for-work-questionnaire

They are correct that the whatever the decision is it will apply to UC.

LCWRA isn't awarded based on any diagnosis. Most people have assessments, which are mostly by telephone. You can request a face to face too.

You can cancel this appointment for Tuesday and they will send you another appointment. In the meantime if you have access to a printer you can use the form i linked above to fill it in and return it.

They seem to mix the forms up anyway. If only claimed new style ESA but received a UC50!
